If you Google the word "Inspiration" you will get a definition like this:
" The action or power of moving the intellect or emotions or something that is inspired from an inspiring agent or influence."
What inspires each of us is different for each person and is actually quite personal in nature. A string quartet blaring in the background was actually what inspired me to create my "Vertigo" piece. For you, it could be reading a piece of literature.
I honestly feel that being inspired is a gift. I think many times we can be so busy that we block our minds to being inspired and miss out on the gift that is waiting to change us. Perhaps not a huge change, but enough to make us move from stagnation to creation.
An artist is not always inspired when they start to create on a canvas, but as soon as the brush hits the paint something magical happens. The brush takes on our personal signature.
I have been told people know my work by my brush stroke. I feel that is one of the greatest compliments an artist can receive is to have their art known by their brush.
Each piece of art I create is unique and created from a depth within. But your journey you might feel from my art is not mine, it is how YOU are inspired by my art. What does each piece inspire you to do, feel and accomplish? How are you moved? If you can feel your inner inspiration come alive, then you have connected with that art piece and you are inspired within to react. Your soul knows what it needs to grow or heal. Do not let any explanation of my inspiration speak your voice. Your inner voice will tell you what you need. Only then have you connected with my art. Only then can you grow and perhaps change.
